TPXO10 includes gridded to 1/6 degree harmonic constants of the MSL-relative sea-surface elevations and tidal transports/currents for
8 primary tides M2, S2, N2, K2, K1, O1, P1, Q1
3 long period tides Mf,Mm,Msf
3 non-linear tides M4, MS4, MN4
11 minor tides 2N2, S1, 2Q1, J1, L2, M3, MU2, NU2, OO1,M1,T2
TPXO10 is the latest in the TPXO global 1/6 degree resolution series. Release date is Aug 14, 2024
features improved coast line and bathymetry, defined at all C-grid nodes, i.e. z/u/v nodes as opposed to only at z-nodes for previous versions.
assimilated ~twice longer Topex/Poseidon/Jason satellite altimetry time series compared to TPXO9.
assimilated Cryosat-2 harmonically analyzed and binned data in polar areas for 4 major constituents: M2, S2, K1, O1.
verified against independent (not-assimilated) tide gauge data sets and hourly drifter's data
The figure shows the absolute difference between TPXO10v2 and TPXO9v2 on logarithmic scale for M2 and K1 tidal elevations. The blue color corresponds to ~1mm, green ~1cm, orange ~10cm change in the amplitude
The table shows RMS misfit (cm) to the tide gauges sets, described in:
Padman and King (Antarctic - Ant P&K)
Hart-Davis et al. (Arctic H-Davis)
TPXO9v5a and TPXO10v2a are the combined products. They are the same as TPXO9v2 and TPXO10v2 correspondingly in the deep ocean, and corresponding TPXO-atlases, averaged back to 1/6 degree in the coastal areas.
